Dr. Rachel Palen
Clinic Owner, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Rachel Palen is a dedicated Doctor of Physical Therapy with a passion for holistic patient care. She earned her doctorate from Des Moines University and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Iowa. Originally from Ottumwa, IA, Rachel now resides in West Des Moines.
Coming from a large family with 15 aunts and uncles and countless cousins, Rachel’s entrepreneurial spirit is inspired by her father, who owns a carpet and cabinet store, and her grandfather, who ran the local radio station.
With 8 years of practice, Rachel is serving her second term as a delegate representing Iowa at the American Physical Therapy Association’s House of Delegates. She also earned her MLS Laser Therapy Certification, adding another tool to help support healing, recovery, and pain relief as part of a personalized treatment approach.
She loves reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
Rachel is committed to treating the whole person, considering factors like stress, sleep, hydration, and valued hobbies to enhance overall health and help her patients live life to the fullest.
Maggie
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Meet Maggie: With more than 23 years of experience, Maggie is excited to bring her knowledge and compassionate care to the Evexia team. Her background includes lymphatic wellness and lymphedema therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, and neurological rehabilitation, and she is passionate about helping patients improve function, reduce discomfort, and build confidence through personalized care. When she’s not working with patients, Maggie enjoys hiking national parks with her family, supporting her four kids in all their activities, and spending time with her two dogs.
